For this purpose, the study used annual time series data and employed an ARDL F-bounds test approach to achieve the determined objectives. The findings of the ARDL model reported that corruption, circular debt, and population have a positive impact, while  industrial GDP and distribution and transmission contribute negatively  to short- and long-term energy crises. Consequently, this study helps policy makers to focus on the issue of corruption and circular debt in the energy sector of Pakistan.
